For countryside enthusiasts, Carradale in Shiskine is the ideal location to enjoy panoramic views across the Shiskine Valley. The property is located within peaceful surroundings yet only 3 miles from the nearest village of Blackwaterfoot which offers a butchers, bakers, general store, hotel with restaurant, bar and leisure facilities, and a golf course. The spacious living room has patio doors bringing in the fresh Arran air while the children play in the large front garden. In the evenings the wood burner adds to the ambience of the room while relaxing after a day exploring the island.

The large driveway has plenty of parking for three cars and is shared with the quiet retired couple who live in the upstairs apartment. Guests have full use of the front garden with stunning countryside views, whilst the first floor occupants enjoy the back garden.

The property is easily reached from Brodick on The String road, which takes you across the middle of the island through forests, hills and valleys. Or for an even more scenic route, take the coastal road round the north of the island, passing through the mountain range. Alternatively take the south coast road with its low lying meadows. Whichever route you take, you may be lucky enough to spot deer, seals, otters and eagles. Enjoy walks through Foresty Commission land and visit St John’s Cave on the west, or Glenashdale Falls on the east. The beach at Blackwaterfoot has always been a favourite with families for days out, making this area the place to return each year. Other delightful beaches include those at Kildonan and Sannox. Being located on the west of the island, visitors benefit from the afternoon sun and spectacular sunsets. Beach 3 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
